Breach of Oral Contract and Fraud
Cyrus’ client sued for breach of an oral contract to pay profits from the purchase and sale of an undeveloped lot in a popular commercial area in Southern California. He found the property and brought it to partners and investors, who cut him out of the project after the property was acquired for $6.1 million.  The same undeveloped property was sold less than three years later for $17.25 million.  The jury awarded over $1.78 million in damages to the client and denied the investors’ retaliatory cross-claims.

A college professor and 21-year Army veteran suffered serious personal injuries when his motor vehicle was struck by another driver travelling at an unsafe speed for existing wet road conditions and in excess of 60 mph.  Our client’s vehicle spun out of control across the freeway, colliding with a cement wall on the right shoulder.
